Laboratory

For school projects, students can explore a variety of laboratory content across different scientific disciplines. Here are some ideas to consider:
  • Physics: Investigate how the height of a ramp affects the distance a ball travels, or build a simple electric motor to understand electromagnetism.
  • Chemistry: Perform a titration experiment to determine the concentration of an acid or base solution, or create a pH indicator from common household items.
  • Biology: Study the growth of bacteria on surfaces under different conditions, or create a model representing Earth’s layers using materials like clay or playdough.

  • Environmental Science: Design an experiment to observe how different factors affect soil erosion, or compare different methods of water purification.

  • Engineering: Build a model representing Earth’s layers, or create a scale model of our solar system.

These projects can be adapted for different grade levels and can be performed individually or jointly by a group of students. They also provide a great opportunity for students to apply their knowledge and skills in a practical setting.
